White Raskog Cart Anyone?

As I’m renovating my craft room all I kept thinking to myself was “why didn’t Ikea make a white raskog cart?” So I began to ponder, is it easy to spray paint. I google-imaged “white raskog cart” and I found a blog entry from Smashed Peas and Carrots and she did it and it looked amazing.

So I went to Home Depot and picked up FOUR cans of Rust-Oleum in semi-gloss and the rest is magic.

Ps. I was REALLY terrified to do this, and I’m no expert in spray painting. So please DIY at your own risk!

Started with the hardware first.

Then moved to the baskets, I spray painted the bottom first and then the outside sides, then the inside last along with the outside sides.

Then a 2nd layer inside since this is what we see the most.

And then we wait ….

Not sure if I want to keep the other one teal or spray paint it white?

2 peas in pod – not identical twins but fraternal twins for the moment!

Tada!!! I did it!!!! WHITE #raskogcart by #ikea @ikeausa #raskog #projectlife !! What about you? Do you have a funky looking color Ikea cart? Post below if you do!

What did you use to organize your paper inside the white Raskog cart?

Did you sand it or prime it before you started?? Or did you just go straight into painting it? I have on and I’m extremely scared to paint it! (:
